Abstract
This numerical investigation studies a Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for RC beam-column Closed Curved Beams (CCBs) connections. The main objective of this study aimed to capture the effect of NSM steel bars NSM steel bars and Engineered Cementitious Composite (ECC) as sustainable strengthening material on the structural performance of RC CCBs beam columns connections under pressure loads. The numerical analysis is implemented based on ABAQUS software program and validated well against the experimental results recommended by literature review. A parametric study and a numerical validation for RC CCBs strengthened with NSM Steel bars was prepared and studied by 12 beams divided into 3 groups. The main studied parameters were: number/layout of NSM Steel bars with varied thicknesses and configuration. The ultimate capacity was significantly increased by about 29-66%. The elastic stiffness was enhanced by 1.2-4.1 times higher than the unstrengthen beam. The FEMs developed using program ABAQUS were available to study the tensile performance for such beams.
