Abstract
The performance of Rigid Body Spring Method(RBSM), which is one of discrete approaches and has advantage for the modeling of material discontinuity such as cracking, was presented as an advanced structural analysis method. The realistic damage behaviors such as cracking, spalling of concrete cover and the failure behaviors in flexural and shear were simulated for safety evaluation under monotonic and cyclic loadings. Moreover, an unified analytical method using RBSM with load applying analysis and mass transfer analysis under multi actions was presented. The method was applied to simulate the deterioration process during the life of concrete structures for durability evaluation. The crack propagations due to drying shrinkage and rebar corrosion were simulated under moisture transfer and chloride ion penetration using the developed unified analytical method
